Biography Accomplished visual theatre artist and puppeteer, Gary Friedman has over twenty-five years experience in puppetry-in-education and development, television and live theatre production. He was involved in the design and implementation of health education and development programmes throughout Africa, Canada, Australia and Europe from 1987 to 1997, tackling projects such as ‘Puppets Against Aids’, 'Puppets Against Abuse' and ‘Puppets in Prison’. In the late nineties, Gary co-produced a daily educational children’s television series ‘The Pezoolies’, in which he also performed the main puppet character, Malume, who travelled South Africa interviewing children about their lives. Over the past few years, Gary produced and performed two successful visual theatre productions in South Africa, Kenya and Australia, ‘The Losh ‘n Horror Show’ and ‘Looking for a Monster’. |
