Achievements
- Produced and performed socio-political satire, 'Puns en Doedie' - Puppets Against Apartheid, in South Africa from 1983 to 1987. This street theatre production examined the political situation through the eyes of two very ordinary "Cape Coloured" South Africans. It ran for five years in South Africa and also performed at puppetry festivals and theatres throughout Europe
- Founded an educational trust in South Africa, dedicated to puppetry-in-education. The group tackled controversial and sensitive messages such as HIV/AIDS, Abuse, Domestic Violence, Voter Education and Democracy. The best known of these, 'Puppets Against Aids', achieved great success running for more than ten years throughout Africa, Canada, Australia and Europe
- Produced and directed 'Puppet Election '94' a television series of political comment and interviews with politicians, for the South African Broadcasting Corporation, during the 1994 first South African democratic elections
- Produced 'Puppets in Prison' a peer-group educational theatre programmes in Johannesburg Prison in 1996 and Ekuseni Youth Development Project in Natal in 1997/8
- Awarded 'Distinguished Talent' visa by the Australian Government in 2002, to settle in Australia
