Puppets Against Abuse

'Puppets Against Abuse - Puppets for Peace' developed as an offshoot of 'Puppets Against Aids' in Johannesburg in 1993.

It began by examining the deeply personal issues of abuse and domestic violence in the community of Lenasia.

Community participants were trained to construct, perform and workshop with their community in expressing their issues through the medium of the puppet. The project soon spread to neighbouring communities.
